“The Best Years of My Life”

In the midst of pandemics and job worries, family matters and just daily life in general, it’s easy to forget all that our Penn State Lambda Chi experience gave us and still gives.

Leadership opportunities at the Lambda Chi House, camaraderie with our fellow Lambda Chi Brothers, life-changing philanthropy projects and friendships that will last a lifetime — it’s a lot to be thankful for. For many of us, those experiences made us into the men we are today.

We surveyed Penn State Lambda Chi alums from all across the country about their experiences and they echoed this sentiment precisely. Their college years just wouldn’t have been the same without Lambda Chi. Check out a selection of their survey responses below on what Lambda Chi meant to them. It won’t take long for you to start nodding your head in agreement. You might even be inspired to pick up the phone and call up one of your fellow Lambda Chi Brothers to rekindle some old memories.

“Lambda Chi Alpha was an important part of my undergraduate experience at Penn State, over fifty years ago. Financial and/or service donations to Lambda Chi ( I served as president of the PSU chapter for a time) help make it possible for others to have enriched inter-personal experiences as they further their education as undergraduates.” Silas Powell ’67

“I loved my time as an undergrad at LXA.  It helped shape me into the man I am today.  Many of my Brothers have become lifetime friends.”  Kenneth Termini ’87

“Having been born and raised in State College, I knew that being a “commuting townie’ was not going to provide me with a full college experience. Zeta Zeta provided me with the social and intellectual experiences that I would have otherwise missed. For that opportunity I will be forever grateful.” Michael Shaffer ’60

“The most valuable part of my Lambda Chi experience is of course, the friendships.  It’s quite amazing to attend a party where you intimately know everyone.  Friday night parties were one of the highlights of my life.” Lester Walker ’62
