Recap from the 11th Annual Charlie Zendt Memorial Golf Outing

Hard to believe it’s been eleven years! We had a very nice turnout, and I want to thank everyone who participated in the Charlie Zendt Memorial this year. As usual we are donating $500 to Habitat for Humanity of Centre County, the charity requested by Charlie’s family. This year one of Charlie’s daughters, Erica and her husband Lloyd joined us at the golf course for the group picture and to wish us well. The family very much appreciates what we do to remember Charlie and his contribution to Zeta Zeta.

The weather got us off to a late start so we were only able to complete 9 holes but that didn’t damper anyone’s spirit. We had 17 golfers this year. The winning foursome this year was the Jeff Leo, Ted Oyler, Dave Zrowka, Jon Kuhl group. Maddie Sager won closest to the pin, and Jeff Leo won longest drive. We won’t publish the names of the high scoring group to protect their diginity – LOL.

The alternative activity was a tour and tasting by a group of ten at the Laurel Springs Cidery. The group highly recommends it to anyone visiting Happy Valley.

Dinner was indoors at the chapter house this year due to the weather but we had 34 attending and all had a great time.

Next year, the event will be on Saturday, July 17. Mark your calendars now! Hope to see you there.
