William A. Virbitsky, “Billy”, a resident of Media, passed away on October 4, 2024 at the age of 54. He was the beloved husband of Leslie and devoted father of Kyle, Brian, and Jake.
One of thirteen siblings, Billy was the son of Michael and Genevieve “Jean” (nee Pesarchik) Virbitsky. He was born in Scranton and spent his childhood years in Mayfield, Lackawanna County. He graduated from Penn State University in 1992 with his BS in Supply Chain and later returned for his M.B.A. Billy began his career as a production planner with Kimberly Clark before joining Sanofi-Aventis where he worked for 15 years as a Distribution Manager. He spent the past 14 years as Director of Food and Beverage at Amtrak. Billy and Leslie briefly lived in Anaheim Hills, CA and Stone Mountain, GA before settling in Media, PA where they raised their three boys and have resided for 24 years.
Despite a strong professional career, Billy was always present for his wife and children. He sacrificed professional growth to prioritize time with his family. Billy spent many years coaching basketball, football, and baseball for Media Hoops, Rose Tree Colts, and Media Little League impacting the lives of not only his children but many others. As his children got older, Billy spent countless hours attending all of his boys’ sporting events – he never missed a game! The ultimate sports fan, Billy loved watching Penn State, the Denver Broncos, and the Phillies.
Billy was preceded in death by his father, Michael Virbitsky; his brother, Michael Virbitsky; and his sister, Anne-Marie Thomas.
