We are saddened by the passing of Z967, Curt Speaker (’83). Curt was a much-admired and valued contributor to Zeta, starting in his undergrad years when he served as High Delta, and continuing through the decades that followed. In 1993, he took the reins of the Alumni Corporation. During his tenure, we completed a major renovation of the house, including the addition of a new sprinkler system, putting us ahead of nearly every other Penn State fraternity. During this time, “Tis” returned to Happy Valley and became a Biosafety Officer at the University. Following his relocation, he became a welcoming host to many alumni who crashed at his house during football weekends and a valuable resource for the undergrads, serving as their High Pi in the late 90s. In the years that followed, he continued to help Zeta in many different capacities. Brother Speaker will be sorely missed by our chapter and everyone who knew him.
