Your support this holiday season could do much more than make an impact for Lambda Chi–it could help save Greek life at Penn State and across the country.
Fraternities nationwide are entering a new era as an increasing number of chapters are shut down or suspended due to hazing, alcohol abuse, and other serious offenses–10 right here at Penn State, including Beta Theta Pi following the tragic death of a pledge. As a result, fraternities are facing stricter regulations, intense scrutiny, and zero-tolerance policies that, with one slip-up, could change the course of the future for each chapter and its members.
We are proud of our legacy of being a hazing-free chapter since the early ’80s. This is a bittersweet but necessary statement as we grieve with the fraternities and families who have suffered senseless tragedies. But, as Lambdas, we can help to enact change.
Nearly four decades ago, Zeta Zeta committed to join Lambda Chi’s efforts to end pledging and eliminate hazing. The sanctions to which other Penn State fraternities are scrambling to adapt have been our M.O. for 40 years. We are ahead of the curve, and will remain that way with your continued support.
Lambda Chi is uniquely positioned to lead the way in this new era. With your involvement, our chapter will prosper and serve as a model for other Penn State fraternities to follow.
This holiday season, please add your Zeta Zeta dues payment to your gift list to help preserve our fraternity and Greek life as we know it, and to maintain the strong connections we all share as alumni.
